Published anonymously in 1915, Impersonal Life is a moving and profound chronicle of a spiritual journey that the reader may themselves set out on.
The core concept of the book is that God exists within all of us, and may be called upon if the spirit is sufficiently receptive and attuned to Him. Although the author mentions Christian figures such as Jesus Christ, this tenet remains constant; that we can all discover God and attain spiritual harmony by simply fostering our souls in the correct way.
Readers of Impersonal Life frequently attest to its profound message, which encourages the reader to embark on spiritual growth. Although the language is religious, the essential message - of personal inner growth, harmony with the world around us, and a healthy soul - remains meaningful and weighty irrespective of the reader's personal religious beliefs.
This book would spread steadily to a greater audience throughout the 20th century, with paperback copies passed along and word of mouth serving to spread the wisdom of its message. Today it is considered an abiding classic, beneficent to whomever discovers and absorbs its contents.
Although the author's name would later became known, it was his abiding wish that his name never be associated with this work. Unlike certain other publishers of this work, we have respected and obeyed the author's original wishes in printing this work as 'Anonymous'.
Additionally, this edition of Impersonal Life is in large print, thus allowing those with poor sight to take in its essential message with ease.

I'm impressed that this is a "Christian" based book and that it was written in the 40's. It seems way ahead of its time, as it addresses levels of consciousness. I loved the book, even though it could be repetitive I felt it was almost required in order to understand it. If this was the basis of Christianity and the Holy Book I would probably have remained a Christian. The perspective it takes of each individual not really having a personal life as we think we do, but instead living the life as an expression of God, can be a bit abstract for some. It also raises the question of: Is it all fate, all out of our control, are we really not the ones making the decisions in our life? You have to definitely let the EGO go on this book and be completely open minded. I will read this one again and again, knowing I'll pick up something new. If you have Eastern spiritual beliefs, this is the closest book I've come across in the "Christian" section that pairs well with Eastern beliefs.Product details

As the author admits, it is a small book, but right to the point. I found that it made me question our culture's common definition of what it is to be Christ like. As I worked out how to apply these ideas, I found that it is easier to be Christ like if you approach it in this way. So, to me, It gave me a better understanding of Jesus and his actions and teachings.
I love reading this book. I am talking to myself, listening to the innermost part of my being that is pure and impersonal. I am Divine Power, Wisdom, and Love. This book teaches the premise that all is within God and God is within all. God is consciousness and everything from a rock to a human has it. To life a wonderful life, you only have to make a single decision God or the Mind. I have read ACIM, and this tops it by a longshot. I still love ACIM, but I much prefer this sources tone and energy. The messages are exactly the same, mind you, its just which one fits you better.
Cannot put this book down. Dr Wayne Dyer talked about this book, so I bought it and I know/understand what he meant by his review on thus book. It is a MUST READ. I cannot described the book other than to say that it truly is the I AM, THE TRUE WORD OF GOD. Don't believe me? Try a sample....YOU WILL WANT MORE. BLESSINGS TO ALL WHO READ THIS BOOK
This can be a life changing book. It’s a short read and one of those books that you may get more out of each time you read but plenty of insight the first time. I have read many religious texts from many different cultures and religions. This book encompasses all and is very empowering. God, the Creator, The All, however you want to refer to the Infinite Creative force behind everything, lives in all of us and is with us all the time. We simply don’t comprehend the concept well with our earthly minds but this book takes the Infinite Intelligence and brings it into earthly language. If things are uncomfortable for you and you don’t quite know your purpose, the answers you may be seeking are in this book.
I've had a wonderful life. But I knew there was something missing. I knew it was just out of reach. I attended a conference and Wayne Dyer mentioned this book. It was they way he mentioned this book. If you read nothing else in your entire life read this book. You will see. You will know bliss. You will know God. God is not your religion so in order to feel this book the student must be ready. I caution that you read this book privately and slowly and with an open heart. I wish everyone could know this book and know God. For those of us who are writing here...we can see.
this book is much too personal to "review." leave it to say i have read the bible and other religious writings and this book cut straight through all the extraneous, right to the essence of spirituality. i have read it, my son has read it, my daughter has read it. i give it as gifts now, without any feeling of trying to convince others. it is almost a necessity for people to read. but it isn't an easy read.
First of all, somebody suggested this book to me in a book store when I was going through a hard time and I found the language very off-putting and harsh and couldn't even read it past the first page. It was only a few months later when I really hit rock bottom in a suicidal depression/break down that somebody lent me the book again and I was immediately absorbed by it. It literally picked me up out of the gutter of utter despair I was feeling, and gave me the strength to get started on the path to healing. Then about 2 years later, I came across another copy and I read it again, crying, from start to finish. After reading it the second time, I felt like the abyss under my feet I'd been living with for the previous 2 years finally closed up, and for the first time I had sold ground to stand on. My depression never returned in the same way again, and 12 years have passed.
